MENTORING
Spend at least one hour per
month with a girl to discuss her
future career plans, college
plans, school progress, and/or
opportunities to be positively
involved in the community. The
goal of mentoring is to expose
our girls to positive female
role models who can inspire them
to greater achievements.
Sessions will occur during
school hours before (7:20–8:20
a.m.) or after school(2:50 –4:00
p.m.) |

WEEKLY VOLUNTEER In this role you have the opportunity to assist the regular Consultants with the Girls in Action™ curriculum on a more intimate level with the girls. This role allows you to become acquainted with one consultant group while attending regularly and assisting with attendance, readings, activities and learning during the sessions. Sessions will occur Monday-Thursday (8:25-10:15 am). You will choose one day of the week to volunteer. |

CAREER COACHING
|
Goal: To educate our girls about what it takes to pursue and succeed in a career while providing them with opportunities to experience the career through job shadows, informational interviews, and at least one visit to your company. Spend at least one hour a week with 3-5 girls to expose them to specific careers while working with them to create a career plan for high school and beyond. The sessions will occur during our regularly scheduled project time – Monday-Thursday, 8:30 – 1015 a.m. |

ACADEMIC TUTORING

INTERNSHIPS AND SUMMER JOBSERNSHIPS AND SUMMER JOBS Goal: To provide our girls with opportunities for paid or unpaid internships and jobs in a particular career as a way to expose them to a variety of careers, giving them first hand professional working experience, and expand their network and resources. Spend at least one hour a week with each girl involved in the internship or job to discuss her progress, lessons learned about the workplace, and her career path. Internships and Jobs opportunities will be offered first to our junior and seniors and will occur based on student schedule and the internship and job guidelines

CHAPERONES
|
Goal: To expose our girls to
positive female role models who can
inspire, motivate and empower them
to pursue success in school and
life. The role of chaperones is to
assist with the field trips and
events. Chaperones will be contacted
about a variety of events occurring
from December 2007 - June 2008. All
field trips events will occur during
the school day – 8:30 – 3:00 p.m. |

SPEAKING OPPORTUNITIES
Goal: To expose our girls to
positive female role models who can
inspire, motivate and empower them
to pursue success in school and
life. Speakers will be given options
for dates and will be asked to
submit the title and main idea of
their talk in advance. The sessions
will occur during our regularly
scheduled project time –
Monday-Thursday, 8:30 – 9:15 a.m. |
