Verna Cornelia Price, Ph.D.

Dr. Verna Cornelia Price is a wife, mother, CEO of The Power of People Consulting Group and the Founder/President of Girls in Action. She is an internationally known human potential expert specializing in personal power, leadership and change with an earned her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Adminstration from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Verna is also the founder of Boys of Hope and co-founded The Power of People Leadership Institute™ with her husband Brother Shane Price, the parent organization for both Girls in Action and Boys of Hope committed to empowering and mentoring people to overcome life’s obstacles through personal power and leadership. In 2016, Dr. Verna was recognized with a Founding Mothers Award for her co-founding of the Undergraduate Minor in Leadership at the U of MN Twin Cities which is now the largest academic collaborative leadership program in the world. In 2015, Dr. Verna received the Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award, in 2013 she was named an Everyday Hero by EBONY Magazine, in 2010 was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Black MBAs and Pioneer of the Year by Women Venture. Her best selling books include: The Power of People: Four Kinds of People Who Can Change Your Life, The Silent Cry and, Change Your Life in 30 Days.
